Today, it is estimated a million species face extinction and forests that could help solve climate change are cut down.
Fortunately, after quite long delayed due to pandemic, the deal is now signed as follow:
- Partnership with Indigenous Peoples
- US$200 billion per year by 2030 for developing nations
- Companies to report their impacts on
Though, this deal cannot please everybody yet; like to Nele Marlen, Friends of the Earth International who thinks, this deal is bad; as wording should be tougher on business measures which to accommodate any kind of severe impact is just prohibited.
In general, this deal is perceived excellent, as it consequently requires global leaders’ hard work to transform words into action. As emphasized by Antonio Gutteres – UN Secretary General. In the coming UN 2023 Summit, all leaders are required to step up with new tangible climate action with a new non-negotiable entry price based on values of credibility, serious action plan with new nature base solution.
It is at our big thanks and highest appreciation, goes to all negotiators who have championed this excellent result. You all have worked under extremely media and public spotlight with people worldwide watching.
Happy Holidays and a successful 2023 to come …
