The crisis is not limited to water as commodity; it expands further to agriculture specially on food stability and energy production focusing at electricity sector specially once this cycle to continue worsen. It is new real phenomenon that a night in big city like Shanghai starting darker as the consequence of turning off decorative lights to save power.
However, starting Yesterday a contra version news came out from Pakistan as reported by PTI : at least 347 people died in Sindh, 238 in Balochistan, 226 in Kyber Pakhtunkhwa, 168 in Punjab, 38 in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, 15 in Gilgit-Baltistan and one person was killed in Islamabad. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said authorities have been assessing the economy loss, which could run in to billions of rupees. Pakistan is ill-prepared to deal with such a huge crisis and has sought international help.
CNBCTV18.COM broadcasted: ‘Pakistan flood situation to worsen as Indus and Swat to swell further, rain fury claims nearly 1,000 lives.’ The report said province of Khyber Paktunkhwa declared a ‘rain emergency’. At least 24 bridges and 50 hotels were washed away in flash floods.
